Network #

DHCP (on) #

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a procedure that automatically assigns configuration data such as IP address, netmask, DNS and default gateway to the SMARTplayer in the network. DHCP is activated by default on all SMARTplayers.

DHCP (off) #

Mode for IT technicians to manually assign static IP addresses and other settings for the SMARTplayer.

Important note: Changes only take effect after saving and restarting the SMARTplayer.

Audio #

Minimum Volume #

This setting defines a minimum volume and is particularly useful when different employees operate the sound system. This ensures that the master volume in the live view does not fall below the specified volume.

Analog Input Gain #

The gain control allows you to adjust the input signal of audio sources with insufficient volume in the range from -12 dB to +32 dB. This function is only available for the analog input of the SMARTplayer, with a default setting of 6 dB.

Cinch Socket Input (for ANALOG IN) #

Select the analog input signal (default setting is Mono). If you connect an audio source with only one channel, you can select the corresponding channel to double its volume.

Switch Input (EVAC) #

The switch input is used to connect to existing EVAC systems. As standard, the SMARTplayer is supplied with a clip that bridges the two contacts. If you remove this clip, the player is switched to “Mute”. According to the EVAC standard, a closed contact means that the music continues to play. In the event of a fire, this contact is opened. If the EVAC system should work in reverse, this can be adjusted here. Attention: This is a potential-free contact without voltage. Damage caused by the supply of voltage is not covered by the product guarantee.

Important note: Restart the SMARTplayer for the changes to take effect.

File #

For playback of MP3 files from a micro SD card (not included)

Important note: After inserting the micro SD card, the SMARTplayer must be restarted in order to access the files. This also applies each time the card is removed and reinserted. The micro SD card should be in FAT32 format and have a maximum memory size of 32 GB.

Upload MP3 files #

Uploading and transferring local MP3 files to the micro SD card. Depending on the file size, the process may take a few minutes. The file can then be created as an audio source under Sources.

Source #

You will find pre-configured audio sources in this tab. By activating the individual sources, they are offered for selection in the live view on the SMARTplayer. When using a SMARTstreamer, it broadcasts in standard mode on CHANNEL 1, which is also received on CHANNEL 1 on the SMARTplayer. No further settings are required. This applies to CHANNEL 1-6.

Activate audio source #

To activate an additional source, select it and activate it by moving the slider to the right. Confirm the change by clicking on ‘Apply Changes’.

Create a new audio source #

Click and select the desired audio source type. After entering the data, click on ‘Create Source’ to create the new audio source. This is then available for selection.

Webstream #

Service for creating a digital music source by entering the corresponding URL. If the URL is protected by ‘USER’ and ‘PASSWORD’, use the following format: http://Username:Password@Url. The SMARTplayer only supports unencrypted http://...mp3 streams. If only an encrypted https URL is available, remove the “s” to remove the encryption. You can find a large selection of radio stations at: http://fmstream.org/.

The input gain can also be adjusted (default setting is -10 dB). You can also store a backup source that is played automatically if the web stream is interrupted, e.g. due to an internet failure.

Click here to watch the video.

SMARTstream #

Service for creating additional digital music sources for transmission within the network from one SMARTstreamer to several SMARTplayers or other SMARTstreamers. This is only necessary if the preconfigured CHANNEL 1 to 6 are not sufficient. In this case, use multicast addresses, such as URL 239.10.140.30:42735, and number them in ascending order: 239.10.140.31:42735, 239.10.140.32:42735, etc. Add this audio source to all devices that are to send or receive the channel.

SMARTstream Peer to Peer #

If you want to set up a direct connection between the SMARTstreamer and the SMARTplayer, create a new CHANNEL for both devices and enter the IP address of the other device there.

File (Micro SD card) #

For playing MP3 files from a micro SD card (not included in the scope of delivery): select the corresponding file, set the input gain (default setting -10 dB) and determine which of the following actions should be performed after playing the file.

End Action #

Playback stops after it finishes (no source selected in the live view)

After playback ends, it restarts automatically

Select a source to switch to after playback ends

Audio In #

For connecting an analog audio source via a cable to the SMARTplayer’s RCA input (preconfigured as ANALOG IN)

Stop #

To create a stop source (audio playback stops – preconfigured as STOP)

Delete audio source #

To delete an audio source, select the desired source and click on ‘Delete Source’.

Important note: The audio source currently selected in the live view cannot be deleted.
