Sound Level #

Sound level indicator in dB: When it lights up orange, the SMARTstreamer is receiving an audio signal.
SETTINGS #
User and password #

The first time you access the Settings view, you will be prompted for a username and password. You can find the login details on the product label on the underside of the SMARTplayer / SMARTstreamer. After logging in, you can switch between tabs without re-entering your credentials until you close the tab.

Restart Device #
The SMARTstreamer will restart; all settings will be retained.
Reset Device #
The SMARTstreamer will be reset to factory settings.
Network #
DHCP (on) #

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) automatically assigns network configuration data such as IP address, subnet mask, DNS, and default gateway to the SMARTplayer. DHCP is enabled by default on all SMARTstreamers.
DHCP (off) #

Mode for IT technicians to manually assign static IP addresses and other settings for the SMARTstreamer.
Important note: Changes take effect only after saving and restarting the SMARTstreamer.
Audio #
Minimum Volume #

This setting defines a minimum volume and is especially useful when multiple employees operate the sound system. The master volume in the Live view cannot go below the set level.
Enable network output (Sender mode) #

By enabling the slider, the SMARTstreamer sends the audio source selected in the Live view over one of the configured CHANNELS into the local network. Other SMARTstreamers or SMARTplayers in the network can then receive this source.

Disable network output (Receiver mode) #

By disabling the slider, the SMARTstreamer becomes a pure receiver. This is especially useful for transmitting music across the network and integrating existing audio systems. Example: You want to send an analog music source from the technical room to an amplifier on the second floor. To do this, connect the analog source in the technical room to SMARTstreamer 1 (sender), and then connect the “Out” jack of SMARTstreamer 2 (receiver) to the amplifier on the second floor using a jack cable.

Destination #

Select here the CHANNEL through which the SMARTstreamer sends its audio signal. The signal is transmitted as a SMARTstream into the network and can be received by all devices within the same network.
Analog Input Gain #

The gain control adjusts the input signal of low-volume audio sources from -12 dB to +32 dB. This function is available only for the SMARTstreamer’s analog input, with a default setting of 6 dB.
Cinch Socket Input (for ANALOG IN) #

Select the analog input signal (default: Mono). For a single-channel audio source, you can choose the corresponding channel (Right or Left) to double the volume.
Switch Input (EVAC) #

The switch input allows connection to existing EVAC systems. By default, the SMARTstreamer is supplied with a clip that bridges the two contacts. Removing this clip, the player is muted. According to the EVAC standard, a closed contact means music continues; in case of fire, the contact opens. If your EVAC system works differently, it can be adjusted here. Warning: This is a potential-free contact—applying voltage may cause damage and is not covered by the warranty.
Important note: Restart the SMARTstreamer for changes to take effect.
File #
For playback of MP3 files from a micro SD card (not included)
Important note: After inserting the micro SD card, the SMARTstreamer must be restarted to access the files. This also applies after removing and reinserting the card. The micro SD card should be formatted as FAT32 and have a maximum capacity of 32 GB.
Upload MP3 files #

Upload and transfer local MP3 files to the micro SD card. Depending on the file size, this process may take a few minutes. Afterwards, the file can be added as an audio source under Source.
Source #
In this tab, you will find pre-configured audio sources. Activating a source makes it available for selection in the SMARTstreamer Live view.
Activate audio source #

To activate an additional source, select it and slide the toggle to the right. Confirm the change by clicking Apply Changes.
Create a new audio source #

Click the +, select the desired audio source type, and enter the required data. Then click Create Source to add the new audio source. It will then be available for selection in the Live view.
Webstream #

Create a digital music source by entering the corresponding URL. If the URL is protected with a username and password, use the format: http://Username:Password@Url
. The SMARTstreamer only supports unencrypted mp3-streams. If only an encrypted https
URL is available, remove the ‘s’ to disable encryption. A large selection of radio stations can be found at http://fmstream.org/.
Additionally, the input gain can be adjusted (default: -10 dB). You can also set up a backup source that will play automatically if the web stream is interrupted, e.g., due to an internet outage.
Click here to watch the video.
SMARTstream #

Creating additional digital music sources for transmission within the network from one SMARTstreamer to several SMARTplayers or other SMARTstreamers. This is only required if the preconfigured CHANNELS 1 to 6 are not sufficient. In this case, use multicast addresses, e.g., 239.10.140.30:42735
, and number them sequentially: 239.10.140.31:42735
, 239.10.140.32:42735
, etc. Add this audio source to all devices that should send or receive the channel.
SMARTstream Peer to Peer #
To establish a direct connection between the SMARTstreamer and the SMARTplayer, create a new CHANNEL on both devices and enter the IP address of the other device.
File (Micro SD card) #

To play MP3 files from a micro SD card (not included): select the desired file, adjust the input gain (default -10 dB), and choose the action to be performed after playback.
Important note: After inserting the micro SD card, the SMARTstreamer must be restarted to access the files. This also applies after removing and reinserting the card. The micro SD card should be formatted as FAT32 and have a maximum capacity of 32 GB.
End Action #

Playback stops after it finishes (no source selected in the Live view)

After playback ends, it restarts automatically

Select a source to switch to after playback ends
Audio In #

Create an analog audio source via a cable connection to the SMARTstreamer’s RCA input (already preconfigured as ANALOG IN).
Stop #

Create a stop source (audio playback stops – already preconfigured as STOP).
Delete audio source #

To delete an audio source, select the desired source and click Delete Source.
Important note: The audio source currently selected in the Live view cannot be deleted.
